Jack Anderson, a poet and dance writer, is the author of nine books of poetry and seven books of dance history and criticism. He is a dance writer for the New York Times, dance critic for nytheatre-wire.com, New York correspondent for The Dancing Times of London, and founding co-editor of Dance Chronicle. His books include Choreography Observed, Ballet and Modern Dance: A Concise History, The American Dance Festival, and The Nutcracker, and Art Without Boundaries: The World of Modern Dance, an international history of modern dance, as well as eleven books of poetry. He has also taught dance history and criticism and has served on the dance panel of the National Endowment for the Arts.
