Patrizia Veroli is an independent scholar based in Rome, Italy. Her main research topics are dance in Italy and France between the end of the 19th century and the second half of the 20th, early Ausdruckstanz and modern dance, the Diaghilev Ballets Russes, and Romantic ballet. She is interested in researching interactions between dance and gender, politics (Italian Fascism in particular), and visuality. She has published a number of books as author, co-author, editor and co-editor. Amongst them and most recently, Music dance. Sound and Motion in Contemporary Dance (co-edited with G. Vinay, 2018). She has served as President of the Italian Association for Dance Research (AIRDanza) 2010-2016.
